Amazon Unveils AI-Powered "Canvas Experience" to Revolutionize Seller Data Analysis and Business Growth

Amazon is ushering in a new era of data-driven decision-making for its sellers with the introduction of an innovative AI-powered "canvas experience." This groundbreaking tool, announced on Tuesday, empowers sellers to delve deeply into their sales data, enabling them to "visualize and grow their business in real time." For the first time, sellers can generate personalized, interactive canvases that consolidate their business data, crucial insights, and actionable recommendations, all presented dynamically.

The new "canvas experience," integrated within Amazon Seller Central, merges AI-powered chat functionalities with dynamic, personalized visual representations of data. This allows sellers to not only see their data and key insights but also to explore various business scenarios and implement critical actions directly aimed at fostering growth. Mary Beth Westmoreland, Amazon Vice President of Technology, elaborated on the significance of this development in a LinkedIn post, stating, "This isn’t just another dashboard or reporting tool. It works with Seller Assistant and visually adapts as sellers ask questions, dig deeper into specific insights, or explore different scenarios. Some of the folks on our team say it’s kinda like chatting with your data."

Amazon’s official announcement to sellers detailed the capabilities of this new workspace: "Explore, visualize, and act on your data with a new AI-powered workspace. You now have access to a dynamic canvas experience in Seller Central, where you can visualize data and key insights, explore scenarios, and take critical actions to grow your business. This integrated, AI-native workspace combines chat and visual elements to provide highly personalized and actionable insights."

The process is designed to be intuitive and responsive. When a seller poses questions to the Seller Assistant or selects from suggested prompts, the assistant will construct a personalized canvas. This canvas will feature data, insights, and recommended actions specifically tailored to the individual seller’s business needs. A key differentiator of this experience is its inherent flexibility. Sellers are encouraged to delve deeper into any presented insight, ask follow-up questions, or request alternative perspectives on their data. The canvas is engineered to adapt instantly, generating new visualizations, surfacing additional insights, and presenting recommended actions that directly address the seller’s inquiries, thereby granting them comprehensive control over their business exploration and management.

Amazon Sellers Can Easily Drill into Sales Data for Insights with New AI Tool

Users can leverage this tool to analyze inventory levels, track performance trends, and generate new visualizations by requesting further details or alternative viewpoints. Looking ahead, the platform promises to support increasingly complex scenarios. Questions such as "What product should I launch next?" or "What promotions should I run?" will initiate guided explorations. These explorations will enable sellers to identify product opportunities, benchmark against competitive insights, review inventory recommendations, and directly implement proposed actions. Amazon has committed to progressively rolling out more powerful and intelligent capabilities in the coming months, all aimed at assisting sellers in managing their businesses more effectively, spotting emerging opportunities, and accelerating decision-making processes.

To access this new functionality, sellers can open the updated Seller Central experience on their desktop and select "Access canvases" from the bottom of the left-side panel. For those who have not yet transitioned to the new Seller Central interface, a toggle option is available on the top right of the screen, labeled "New Seller Central."

Further details and visual demonstrations of the new canvas capabilities are available on Amazon’s corporate blog, under the title "Amazon introduces dynamic AI-powered canvas experience that transforms how sellers grow their business." Amazon has also published a video on YouTube showcasing the new tool.

Despite the potential benefits, initial reactions from some Amazon sellers have been met with skepticism. One seller expressed a reluctance to be compelled to use AI tools, while another voiced concerns about the current reliability and readiness of AI for full-time, meaningful business use, suggesting it is "still a long way from being reliable and for meaningful full time use" and "not yet ready for primetime." This apprehension is underscored by Amazon’s own help page for the Seller Assistant, which explicitly states that the tool is powered by AI and includes a disclaimer: "AI is experimental and can make mistakes."

Amazon has confirmed that the canvas experience became available on March 3, 2026, for all sellers operating in the US and UK markets, at no additional cost. The initial rollout focuses on capabilities for analyzing performance trends and understanding business metrics. Subsequent phases will see the canvas experience expanding to additional countries and becoming accessible in languages beyond English later in the year.
